Hikaru no Go

Brau! Hello again fellow readers.Today let's talk about Go,more specifically, let's talk about Hikaru no Go! Don't worry,I won't go into details since I don't even play Go nor does this Tiggy even know the basics of it. Tehehe~ Tiggy actually had known this story for a while (kinda like more than 5 years XD) but Tiggy is just in her lazy mode and decided to keep it on the "Next to Watch" list.Alas, Tiggy finally started to watch it and finish watching it in just 2 days.(Well,it only has 75 episodes only and for the record, the fastest anime that Tiggy has watched is D.gray with 103 episodes for 2 days. The insanity of this Tiggy../shakes head).Alright! Now for the summary. (I just copy paste it from wiki but I shall give my opinion later)

While exploring his grandfather's shed, Hikaru stumbles across a Go board haunted by the spirit of Fujiwara-no-Sai, a fictional Go player from the Heian era. Sai wishes to play Go again, having not been able to since the late Edo periodwhen his ghost appeared to Honinbō Shūsakuan actual top Go player of that period. Sai's greatest desire is to attain the Kami-no-Itte "Divine Move" – a perfect move. Because Hikaru is apparently the only person who can perceive him, Sai inhabits a part of Hikaru's mind as a separate personality, coexisting, although not always comfortably, with the child.
The first meeting
of Hikaru & Sai

Urged by Sai, Hikaru begins playing Go despite an initial lack of interest in the game. He begins by simply executing the moves Sai dictates to him, but Sai tells him to try to understand each move. In a Go salon, Hikaru defeats Akira Toya twice, a boy his age who plays Go at professional level, by following Sai's instruction. Akira subsequently begins a quest to discover the source of Hikaru's strength, an obsession which will come to dominate his life.

Hikaru becomes intrigued by the great dedication of Akira and Sai to the game and decides to start playing solely on his own. He is a complete novice at first, but has some unique abilities to his advantage; for instance, once he has a basic understanding of Go, he can reconstruct a game play by play from memory. Through training at Go clubs, study groups, and practice games with Sai, he manages to become an
insei and later a pro, meeting various dedicated Go players of different ages and styles along the way. While Hikaru is at this point not yet up to the level of Akira, he demonstrates a natural talent for the game and remains determined to prove his own abilities to Akira, Sai, and himself.
Serious Sai!
Hmm,interesting right? With the ghost and the guy who is hang over you after he lose to you and blalala..Alright let's clarify one thing first,as you know although Touya is the son of some famous Go player,he's actually a very humble and polite boy contrary to all those spoiled little brat of the famous people (Although he does have his moment but I think it's just normal for him to react that way).Oh,I would also like to warn you that Hikaru (the main character) is actually a bit bratish in the beginning and some people may get a bit annoyed by it but still,it's just a normal behavior of 12 years old.No complain there.

Hmm..who else.Oh yeah, the ghost,Fujiwara no Sai.He's just the sweetest thing (a bit annoying a times) he's just adorable. He seems a bit childish and playful sometimes but his maturity can also be seen at times.I guess that's what to be expected of 1000 years old ghost huh?

"Hikaru,Hikaru,

 let's play Go!"

The ending was to the many disappointment of the fans,'hanging'.Yeah,it just ended somewhere, doesn't tell us
what happen next,if Hikaru defeat Akira or if he become someone awesome and whatnot.Nope, none of that. But Tiggy like it that way,at least she doesn't have to have her heart broken when the characters getting paired up or married someone else that she doesn't like (Naruto broke my heart! Why did you have to marry Sakura Sasuke! My SasuNaru T_T)

The show doesn't really get in depth about but there's still a few beginner's information that can be gain and if you watch the anime, there's a lesson from Yukari Umezawa ,a professional Go player (5 dan) for around 5 minutes. But Hikaru no Go! is not that suitable for people who really want to learn Go though. It's just a fun and informative anime/manga but you can still watch it to feel the passion of people playing Go.

Here's a video about basic Go.Bye bi~
